Professional Edge Consulting also offers language training in both English and French. English classes will be taught at three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Beginner- Beginner classes are for those who have limited or no knowledge of the English language. Classes will offer an introduction to the English language. Students will learn how to conjugate basic verbs in English and will be able to form basic sentences and phrases by the end of the class schedule. Students will be called upon to write and pass an oral and written exam at the culmination of this course. Passing the final exam is mandatory for advancement to the Intermediate level.
Intermediate- Classes at the intermediate level are suited for students who have a basic background in the English language but need to learn the more advanced concepts of the language. The emphasis will be on pronunciation and correcting any grammatical errors students may have picked up by habit. Registrants can also look to improve their vocabulary and gain an introduction to public speaking and presentations in the English language. Formal writing will also be introduced in this course. An oral and written exam will be presented at the end of this course.
Advanced- The advanced course will be divided in to two components: spoken and written.
The Spoken English component will focus on presentations, and public speaking. Students can look to improve their knowledge of the English language and fine tune their speaking abilities and skills. Registrants will be required to make frequent in-class presentations on a wide array of topics. Students will learn to speak in a more eloquent manner and be able to improve their vocabulary as well. An oral exam will be held at the culmination of this course.
The Written English component of this course will be centered around drafting and formal writing. Students can seek to improve their writing skills and will gain confidence when composing letters and other pieces of formal writing such as briefs and proposals. Professionals will be introduced to different styles of formal writing and will learn how to choose the appropriate style of writing for differing situations. Essay writing will not be covered in this course. However, our consultants are available for private lessons and mentoring outside of the group class schedule.
Introductory- French lessons will be taught at the introductory level and students can hope to gain a basic understanding of the language. This course is ideally suited for professionals dealing with French speaking clients, or making business trips to French speaking countries. No background knowledge of the language is required. The course will focus on the basics of the French language and students can expect to learn verb conjugation and basic phrases and sentences. By the end of the course students should be able to carry on a basic conversation in French.

Our “French as a Second Language” course is offered to students and adults. This course will provide students with the skills and knowledge required to communicate effectively in French. During this course students will be graded on their communication and comprehension skills. Our objective in this course is to enable students to communicate in French with confidence.
Students will be taught the essential and specific aspects of grammar, spelling and verbs, which are the fundamental tools required for formulating sentences. Students will be required to submit short stories using these essential tools for writing their sentences. These activities will help strengthen their vocabulary and grammar skills. Our goal is to provide students with a solid foundation in spelling and grammar.
This is an eight week course, which students can apply for on-line. There will be 4 modules outlining the course material. Students will be required to complete a quiz after each module.
